The State House has outlined a budget of N15.09 billion for the purchase of tyres for bulletproof vehicles, SUVs, operational cars, and the construction of a new office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants. These allocations were detailed in the recently unveiled 2025 Appropriation Bill, presented by the Budget Office of the Federation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his presentation of the budget titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” to the National Assembly, emphasized the government’s focus on defense, infrastructure, and human capital development. The total spending plan for 2025 stands at a substantial N49.70 trillion, with a projected deficit of N13.39 trillion, which will be financed through borrowing.
Key Allocations in the State House Budget:
- Vehicle Purchases:
- N164 million for tyres for bulletproof cars, SUVs, and operational vehicles.
- N1.1 billion for replacing SUVs.
- N3.66 billion allocated for new operational vehicles.
- N127.86 million for SUVs for the President and Vice President.
- N285 million for the Chief of Staff’s vehicle purchases.
- N179.63 million for vehicles for the Chief Security Officer to the President.
- Office Complex Construction:
- A sum of N1.83 billion has been earmarked for building an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.
- Other Expenditures:
- N2.12 billion for honorarium and sitting allowances.
- N5.49 billion set aside for the annual maintenance of the Presidential Villa.
